About Photoshop.. well, I'm no expert, but.. practice doing some paintings using just flat brushes (like these [link]); they are somewhat hard to master, but they'll help you create some very interesting effects. Also you can play around a little with the Sharpen>>Smart Sharpen filter. I think I used that in this very piece. Sometimes it's a very nice "final touch".. sometimes. Other times is just doesn't work XD you must see it for yourself.
